Who we are.

Cal Poly Democrats is a community of students committed to civic engagement, political involvement, and meaningful action. We bring students together to learn, connect, and organize around the issues that matter most—on campus and beyond. We strive to build an inclusive space where students can find their voice, build relationships, and work together to create lasting change.

The Specifics

From campus events to real political work, here’s how students get involved!

Voter registration drives and campus initiatives like Donuts for Democracy and issue-based campaigns such as our Prop 50 outreach efforts.

We host events and bring leaders to campus, including Board of Supervisors members, the Mayor, other City Council members, the County Clerk, and Statewide officials and candidates.

We take action through protests and advocacy, participating in events like No Kings, ICE Out, Hands Off, and Flock-Out Walk Out, and speaking at school board and city council meetings on issues like trans rights and renter protections.

We connect students to real political experience through SLO County Democratic Party internships, attending California Democratic Conventions, and collaborations with other student organizations.

We give back through hands-on community service, including volunteering at homeless shelters, beach cleanups, and food pantries, helping students make a direct impact in the community.
